Moodboard - Moroccan Muse
Moroccan Muse layers inky blue, aqua and sun-warmed clay tones to create a rich, expressive palette with a distinctly Moroccan-inspired feel. Decorative pattern sits at the heart of the scheme, balanced by simpler blocks of colour and varied finishes that allow the deeper shades to feel sophisticated rather than overwhelming. Warm cotto and amber soften the blues, while pale aqua and natural stone-effect details introduce a lighter counterpoint.
The moodboard is built around the striking Balthazar Grand, whose geometric pattern brings together deep blue, warm terracotta, soft neutrals and crisp white. It provides a natural focal point for the scheme and could be used across a bathroom floor, hallway, kitchen splashback or statement feature area. The surrounding tiles pick out individual colours from the pattern, making it easy to build a coordinated room without relying on pattern across every surface.
Blue is explored through several different tones and textures. Baroque Laguna Blue introduces a deep, moody shade with a metallic finish, while Pottery Prussian Decor adds a slimmer format with a glossy surface and beautifully varied blue colouring. For something softer, Zellige Aqua brings a pale, watery blue into the palette, helping to lift the richer shades. Amalfi Azul introduces subtle movement through its matt surface, creating another way to bring blue into the scheme without competing with the main pattern.
The warmer side of the palette is equally important. Jumairah Clay has a soft, earthy terracotta tone that works naturally alongside the blues, while Saigon Amber brings greater depth through its warm amber colouring and glossy finish. Baroque Cotto continues the terracotta story with a richer metallic surface, giving the scheme an additional layer of warmth and texture.
The contrast between matt, gloss and metallic finishes gives Moroccan Muse much of its character. Glossy wall tiles can catch the light across a kitchen splashback or shower wall, while the quieter matt surfaces provide balance. Used selectively, the metallic Baroque tiles can introduce a more luxurious accent without taking the scheme away from its earthy foundations.
There are several directions this moodboard could take. Pair Balthazar Grand with Jumairah Clay and Zellige Aqua for a softer Moroccan style interior, or bring in Pottery Prussian Decor and Baroque Laguna Blue for something darker and more dramatic. For a simpler interpretation, the combination of pale aqua and warm terracotta creates a strong colour story even without the patterned tile.
Moroccan Muse would work particularly well for bathroom tiles, bathroom floor tiles, shower tiles, kitchen tiles, kitchen splashback tiles, patterned tiles, hallway tiles and statement wall tiles. The balance of decorative pattern and versatile plain tiles means the palette can be scaled up for an immersive interior or introduced through a smaller feature.
